Front of the CD As you can see, it is titled "Scratching the Surface". The title is a reference to the fact that this only a sampling of our very extensive repertoire of tunes, and also is a whimsical allusion to the sound of the fiddle bow on the strings.

The tunes are a diverse mixture of dance medleys, waltzes, old-time set pieces from the early days of recording, various printed sources, and recent compositions by musicians such as Calvin Vollrath, Carl Jones, Amy Cann, Alasdair Fraser, and Kenny Sidle. Of course, liner notes describing each piece are included.
