Thanks to our elders for helping financially!! That means, sooner rather than later, we will have a real website. You may notice a bit of neglect here for a few days. I am busy creating menus for what will be www.hattoncoc.org. We will have the same goals on the new site as I originally had here:speak the truth in love without compromise; save and strengthen the church;spread the gospel of Christ.
My personal opinion is that there are not many choices when dealing with God's word but only two. Christ tells us that God's word is truth. John 17:17 The psalmist tells us that the law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple> Psalms 17:7 From these passages, I believe that we can find the truth, if we keep man's ideas out of our thought process.
To illustratr my point: Suppose you are almost at the end of a long journey. You know that you are near your destination but don't know the city streets; so you stop at a gas station for directions. Three men each give you different directions (they think that they know where your hotel is located) Now you have several choices, none of which are sure to be right. You then see a city map and purchase it; in order to find your way. Isn't the same true in religion? Fortunately for us, we have a road map that can give wisdom to the simple.
Let`s conclude with one scripture with no comment from me:
"For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted
unto him for righteous."
