New Turbo System

The original turbocharger for this car was an "E-flow" Rajay unit. It served well but an unfortunate demise killed it. A piece of foreign material entered the compressor and broke the impeller.

I had spent virtually no money on the orginal system and at the time that was one of the unique aspects of it. I wanted to build a more potent setup and utilize more technology that I couldn't use at the time I built the original setup.

Engine Family: 60° Chevy V6 (Note- these pictures are from the original turbo system.)
Displacement: 3.2 Liters or 198 Cubic Inches
Block and Heads: Grey Cast Iron
Intake and Plenum: Aluminum

Fuel Delivery:
System: Rochester Multiport Fuel Injection.
Regulator: Malpassi rising-rate FPR
Transfer Pump: Delco TBI in-tank pump
Main Pump: Motorcraft in-line 95 PSI rated
Injectors: Bosch 160 cc/min @ 46 psi

Air Delivery:
Turbocharger: Turbonetics ceramic-ball bearing water cooled T3/T4
Intercooler: Used part from Volvo sedan. Blackstone.
Air filter: K&N filter in modified factory airbox.
Air plumbing: Custom. Using 2"EMT and marine exhaust hose.

Exhaust:
2.5" single exhaust from turbocharger outlet to tailpipe. Single Cherry Bomb glasspack under center of car, single Turbo chambered muffler at rear. Exhaust takes factory routing and nothing hangs below the car. Original was 1 3/4" pipe. Jimmie's Muffler in Tuscaloosa did an awesome job stuffing this big pipe through the factory exhaust routing! Oh, and yes it does sound good!

Cooling:
Engine coolant: 4-flue Go-Dan radiator. All copper. (Stock radiator for a diesel-powered A-body car)
Engine Oil: Oil-to-Water heat exchanger built into radiator.
Transmission Oil: Oil-to-Water pre-cooler built into radiator. Hayden Air-cooled heat exchanger for main cooloing.

Engine Management::
Ignition: Remote-mounted HEI Module triggering MSD 6A power unit. Full ECM timing control.
EFI: Delco 1226869 ECM running 2-bar Speed Density program

Transmission:
THM 440-T4 transaxle with 2-plate 4th clutch. (3.33:1 gears)
2100 RPM torque converter with TCC and valving modifications
Custom fabricated Throttle Valve cable fittings
