With any live plant you will need to trim it. Trimming is a delicate process and you want to make sure that you don't trim too much off of your plant. Here are the complete instructions for trimming your plant:
Materials
- Medium size scisors
- Bucket
Steps
- Identify the area that needs to be trimmed and how much.
- Start Trimming
- Start off taking off little amounts of plant then go up until you are satisfied.
- As you are trimming keep putting the trimmed off plant into the bucket.
- Always leave plenty of plant untrimmed so the plant doesn't die.
- In the end make sure you have cleaned up all of the excess plant matter from the tank because many plants will sprout new roots from a leaf that has been cut off and you could end up having plants in places where you don't want them.
Now that you are done make sure you clean up good and take the scisors out of the tank. Now that you have done that you are finished! If you wish you can buy special aquarium plant foods at your local fish store. Be sure to consult the salesperson there to make sure this is right for your tank and your fish.
