They have started the incorporation of synchronization. They are taking baby steps, which with data loss and corruption enmass at risk, is not a bad approach.

Contact synchronization is now active in beta testing using fusionOnetm.

Ok.

I sort of dubbed FPS and FPO by creating the acronym list all those years ago. I have a thought and have been using OFP (Online Franklin Planner) for some time here, but am really not sold on it.

Time for FC or the users to pick one.
Chad liked FP.com, until I tagged him about that being confusing, since there really is one and it is not FC's.

Vote for one or add your own:

OFP - Online Franklin Planner
FP.C - Franklin Planner . Com
FPC - (just w/o the period)
FPI - Franklin Planner Internet
IFP - Internet Franklin Planner
F1FP - fusionOne Franklin Planner
DT/P/FP - DayTracker/Planner/FranklinPlanner

JABFP - Just Another Buggy Franklin Planner

Imagine going to print my monthly calendar, and the only options are ALL APPOINTMENTS or the GROUP??!!!

No option exists for only printing my OWN appointments.....

Well, the FusionOne synchronization of Contacts has been expanded to add Calendar, Tasks, and Notes. I have not tried the notes, but...

Tasks synchronizes all group tasks from all members of the group and personal tasks. No option exists to restrict them to self-only.

Calendar events, however, as with contacts are only your own private calendar events.

Basically, making it unusable for real-time personal and business time management. I do NOT want my tasklist cluttered with other peoples tasks, everytime I sync.

Hmmm.... with every member of the group exercising restraint and working to the same definition of when something is a 'group' task....

Nope, won't work. The objective from a business manager's standpoint would be the desire to see and assign individual members tasks, but, not have them reflected into your own schedule. Each user would tag tasks as Private Tasks or as being 'group related' so that each person would have THEIR OWN TASKS, some of which were group related and some that were not. You would only want to sync tasks ASSIGNED to yourself, both the ones that were private AND the ones that you considered group related.

My criticism still stands.

Franklin Covey purchased DayTracker and I can already see FC's demonstrated 'poor quality' with s/w filtering in.

Someone decided they wanted function x to work this way, and that is the only option you get. Total stupidity seems to reign in some of the selections.

No option to print only your own tasks to a monthly calendar. As a matter of fact that is true for all print modules except Notes.

Fu1 (short for FusionOne) synchronizes ALL GROUP tasks to my Outlook (as if the file isn't big enough already.)

Calendar can ONLY synchronize your own, which is OK, but, their 'issues' seems to indicate they are pushing to sync all group events with no filtering options!

Deemed:
Not ready for serious users.

If Franklin Covey's demonstrated lack of timely response to bugs and issues creeps any farther into the site.

It is doomed.

If measures are taken NOW to PREVENT history from repeating itself, FC has the opportunity to recover its reputation.

FC has changed the public discussion groups and feedback on Franklinplanner.com to route you to the FC official forums.

A "Public Group" seems to have been set up by John Q Public that still uses the Message Board system, rather than the forum system to track items of 'public' interest. It is an open group so just hunt for the group PUBLIC GROUP and join!

(A little birdy tells me that Rob, Aaron, and Ric have joined and may be lurking!)
