There are various UID constructs (formats for the data contained in the
Data Matrix). The example below is Construct #1. The items in red are
special codes to define various parts of the UID construct when the UID
is 'read'. We'll take care of that stuff. Just type in your data for
'CAGE CODE' and 'SERIAL NO' text boxes. If you don't know the
'CAGE CODE' or the 'SERIAL NO', just make something up (maximum of 20
characters, please!). The rest of the parameters in
the construct will be automatically added to the Data Matrix!
Cell Size: The number of pixels per cell. The larger the
value, the bigger the resulting Data Matrix image.
Quiet Zone: Number of cells to use for the quiet zone. The
Quiet Zone is the clear area around the Data Matrix. A minimum
value of "1" is recommended by specification.
Inverse Polarity: Check this box if you would like a white
symbol on black background (ie a negative image).
Mirror Image: Check this box for a mirror image.
(flipped vertically).
Rectangular: Check this box if you would like a rectangular
symbol. The default is square. Do NOT
check this box if you specify the density below!
HINT:
Leave the density blank and the smallest density will be used.
Density: Number of rows and columns in the
Data Matrix. This value is determined by the amount and
type (ie alpha, numeric, 8-bit ASCII) of data
that is encoded. Leave the density blank and the
smallest density will be used. If you'd like a
rectangular Data Matrix symbol, select the appropriate
row/column density or leave the density blank and check
the "Rectangular" box above.
