"The Dragon (Part IV)" by Nathaniel Richard Patton (at age 8) Once upon a time there was a dragon who was very poor. He was very rude. He was also very sad. He was so sad he went to see the king.( who is a lion!) Well he went up to him and said your highness can you loan me some money?(or gold?) in his rude voice. The King did not know what to say, so he just said, "Yes." The King called for his gold and said to the dragon , "Here, take this. You need it more than I do." So he took the gold and went home. As he walked home he said to himself, " I think I need to go to the market to get some food." So he went to the market to get some food with his gold. Then after a while he went home to his pet bobcat. Then when he ran out of gold he went back to the King and asked him again for gold. He said , "Yes." He kept on doing this for months. Then one day the King asked the dragon a question. He asked him if he would be king when he died because he had no children. The dragon said "Yes, with delight." The King was very old and then the day came when the King died and the dragon became king and he lived happily ever after. The End!
