Task 4 - Duck Dinner

This task is to use the Photo Studio Application (or any other available to you) to combine the two given photos into one. Suggested steps are provided below. There are many ways to accomplish this task. Can you find an easier one?

Learning Objectives:

d. Use of Borders and adding Text.

Your result should be similar to the one given below.

Suggested steps:

1. Capture the three pictures and save them to a file, merely click on the pictures with the right mouse button.

2. Start Photo Studio, and open the picture of the duck and the dog. Use the window command to tile them.

3. Using the clone brush paint out the ugly black duck by replacing him with water, rock, and grass.

4. Transform and resample the dog to 50% of his size. Be sure to keep the aspect ratio.

5. Close the original dog picture and tile the smaller on with the duck.

6. Transform the dog by flipping him horizontally.

7. Use the magic wand tool to select the black dog and his red collar. Hold down the shift key as you select the various shades of black and red. You may have to adjust the tolerance setting.

8. Select the edit copy tool to place the dog and his collar on the clip board.

9. Go to the picture of the duck and paste the dog in there.

10. Use the area move tool to position the dog down in the lower right corner.

11. If you need to you can use the clone tool to touch up around the dog.

12. Add your inside red border.

13. Add a big green border.

14. Crop to the desired shape.

15. Add the outer red border.

16. Add in desired text.

17. Well done.

18. Save the result to a floppy to share with the class.
