This overgrown cemetery is reportedly located on land originally owned by Robert Chamblee who settled in Blount County near his brother Isham Chamblee. Robert Chamblee and his wife Mary are said to be buried within some of the large rock lined tombs. This family cemetery was later used by the Mt. Hope Primitive Baptist Church which had its meeting place along County Road 26 adjacent to the ridge.

The cemetery seems to have two distinct parts: the Ratliffs, Hendricks, and Putman monuments are overgrown with periwinkles and fenced and located to the South, while the Barnes and Price monuments are located in a separate fenced area to the North.

Isham Chamblee is believed to be buried in the Chamblee / Curl Cemetery (see separate link).
