Township 12 South, Range 1 East, Section 32/33

Location: about three miles Northwest of Allgood on County Road 1; then right on County Road 33; go about a quarter mile and take one lane dirt road to left; cemetery is on left after about another quarter mile

Some of the older Chitwood monuments have been replaced by contemporary monuments and are duplicated in the cemetery where the older monuments have not been discarded. From the Heritage of Blount County, 1999, page 35, Chitwood Cemetery "...is located on land settled by the pioneer William McDonald. It is believed there was a Methodist Church nearby in the early days. William McDonald was a methodist preacher. Two of his daughters married Walker brothers."
