From The Heritage of Blount County, Alabama, 1972 [The first Heritage of Blount County book, not the one that came out in 2000]: "A Northern Methodist Church was located at the top of the ridge, about 1/4 mile off what is now Highway 278 to Cullman. The name of the church was Blue Ridge, but now there is only a cemetery. This church was probably established in 1819. Some of the people buried there are Ransom R. Hall and wife Lydia, his sister and her husband, Margaret and Jim Graves, and Sivleys, ancestors of the late Noah Sivley."

Burnett, a Justice of the Peace in and for said county and state hereby certify that on the 13th day of March 1890 came before me the within named Liddy E.
