1870 Blount County, Alabama Federal Census

Newly transcribed from the official microfilm, this volume carefully recreates the original pages, but are typewritten in tabular form. The format of the original is preserved, but the content is presented in easy to read style. It's like studying the original pages, only typeset! You can easily study next door neighbors and nearby relatives. Not only that, but this volume contains a FULL NAME (last name, first name) index.

The 1870 Blount County, Alabama Federal Census is notoriously hard to read in some places. In fact, a handful of names are indicipherable. Names were checked against the 1860 Census and other records to resolve questionable entries. This book is not perfect, but is the first full transcription with full name index I know of.

8 1/2 x 11, plastic comb bound; about 340 pages.
