REMEMBRANCES TO MIRIAM

LOUISIANA   MEMORIAL PLAZA
The Louisiana  Memorial Plaza is located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana just off I-10 on the east bank of the Mississippi river bridge.  It was dedicated in 1986. The Plaza is run by a commission established by the State of Louisiana to honor its sons and daughters who have fallen in battle in defense of their country .  It is opened 9-5 each day except Thanksgiving and Christmas. Over two dozen large granite stones bear the many names of the war dead from the Spanish-American War to the Korean War.

This Memorial is located adjacent to the Louisiana Naval War Memorial where the USS KIDD is on permanent display
St. MICHAEL'S CEMETERY
This  old church cemetery in St. Martinville Louisiana is the site of Miriam's  final resting place.  He was interred here on 27 May 1948 after being escorted by  US military personnel from Henri-Chapelle, Belgium.  As a young boy I attended the funeral.
