LOUISIANA
MEMORIAL PLAZA
The
Louisiana Memorial Plaza is located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana just
off I-10 on the east bank of the Mississippi river bridge. It was
dedicated in 1986. The Plaza is run by a commission established by the
State of Louisiana to honor its sons and daughters who have fallen in battle
in defense of their country . It is opened 9-5 each day except Thanksgiving
and Christmas. Over two dozen large granite stones bear the many names
of the war dead from the Spanish-American War to the Korean War.
This Memorial
is located adjacent to the Louisiana Naval War Memorial where the USS
KIDD is on permanent
