The 1999 Countywide Spelling Bee was held at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday 2/9/99 at the Huntsville Academy for Academics and the Arts at 2800 Poplar Street, NW, in Huntsville. |

Spelling BeeThis competition is intended to identify the champion speller in area schools. Entrants represent schools from the Huntsville City School system, the Madison City School system, the Madison County School system, several private schools in Madison County, and a couple of representatives of the home-school community.Members of the Kiwanis Club of Huntsville sponsor this countywide event each year. Rod Steakley, club member and local attorney, is the event host and "pronouncer." Glenn Smith is Chairman of the Vocational Guidance Committee, the Kiwanis club organization responsible for this activity. |
