Frank "Kenny" Daniel, 65, of Huntsville passed away
Thursday. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lillie Daniel;
brothers, Sam, Robert Jr., Avery Lee, Marcus and Herman. Kenny was a lifelong
resident of Huntsville. He graduated from S.R. Butler High School and the
University of North Alabama. He excelled in sports at both schools. He was
formerly a physical director at the West Huntsville YMCA, coach and teacher at
Lee High School and an agent for Liberty National and Alfa Insurance
companies. Kenny was a member and deacon of Mount View Baptist Church; member
of the Downtown Kiwanis Club; ardent supporter of UAH basketball and was a
member of the Huntsville/Madison County Sports Hall of Fame. He is survived by
his wife, Mary Neyman Daniel; son, Robert Trenton Daniel of Birmingham;
daughter, Kendra Katherine Schuerer and husband, David, of Merritt Island,
Fla.; brother, Bobby E. Daniel and wife, Martha; sisters, Magline Blackmon,
Connie Counts and husband, Don, and Linda Hargrove and husband, James, all of
Huntsville; sisters-in-law, Frances, Evelyn and Jan Daniel; and numerous
nieces and nephews. Kenny will be greatly missed by a host of family and
friends and especially by his dog companion, Chester. Visitation will be from
5 to 7 p.m. today at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. A memorial service will be
at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Mount View Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Evans
officiating. There will be a private family burial. In lieu of flowers,
memorials may be made to the Huntsville Humane Society, Mount View Christian
Life Center, the American Heart Association or the Diabetes Association.
